Zombies Ate My Neighbors might become a movie

February 6, 2011 News No Comments

Remember the classic SNES and Genesis run-and-gun tribute to horror movies, Zombies Ate My Neighbors? I do, I named it the 37th best Super Nintendo game ever. The few hundred people who watched that video probably remember too.

That’s not to say anyone else does, however, but a film is in the works none the less. I wonder where it will fit in the canon of the franchise. More importantly, I wonder if soda-pop grenades and water guns will be the best weapons the main characters can scrape together.

Zeke and Julie, along with teenage angst, romance, and zombies are in the mix, but not much else is known.

The Walking Dead trailer stumbles into existence

August 2, 2010 News 2 Comments

The Walking Dead is one of the coolest comic series around, and now it’s being turned into a TV series for AMC. A shaky-cam copy of the trailer taken at Comic-Con has landed online, and it’s viewable above.

The plot is simple enough: Rick Grimes was a police officer before the world ended, now he leads a group of survivors struggling to make it against the undead horde. What is not simple, at least in the comic, is the depth of the characters within. It’s a fantastic series, and I can’t wait to see what AMC does with it.

Mario and crew turned into flesh eating, wrench-wielding monsters

July 26, 2010 News 1 Comment

I can’t be the only one who dreams of one day playing a dark, gruesome Mario game (or Mario parody, since that isn’t too likely to happen). It seems like there are always genius internet artists feeding that dream, too.

Through the power of photography, mrksaari over on flickr has realized an awesome, violent, and zombified visual style for the Mario gang. Hit the link above to view more from his series, including a close-up of Zomb-Toad that is sure to terrify.
