YouTube’s Chad Hurley steps down, new CEO is hungry for ad money

YouTube, the internet’s direct portal to human stupidity, has a new CEO. Old co-founder Chad Hurley has stepped down from the position, and is turning things over to Google ad henchman Salar Kamangar.
The AP argues that Kamangar’s promotion is an indication that Google is still pushing for a profit from YouTube’s broad community of ranting pop culture junkies, hot women doing mundane things, and humble video game reviewers.
Kamangar has been at YouTube since 2008, and he has increased ad sales during that time, but seemingly not to the extent Google would like. Let’s hope that doesn’t mean more pre-rolling ads.
