Tokyo back on the anti-loli warpath

Remember when Tokyo was thinking about making depictions of lolicon manga illegal? Well, the bill is back, and this time its language is vaguer than ever.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is now looking at eliminating any imagery in manga, anime, or games depicting “sexual acts or sexual like acts that would be illegal in real life.” Amazingly, what this law specifically does not cover is written text or images of “real” people. That is to say, you can show simulated rape in a live-action porn movie, but switch to hentai and you’re as fucked as your imagination.

This is, of course, in the name of protecting children. You see, the bill goes after imagery “harmful to a minor’s mental health regarding sexuality.” You know, just in case this stuff, as opposed to all the other preposterous porn produced in Tokyo, falls into the hands of kids.

Cosplay Idol: So You Think You Can Cosplay

sulci: There is this terrible stereotype that the only Caucasian cosplayers are fat and hairy, and that only Asian cosplayers are hot. What do you think of this stereotype, Newbs? True or False?

Newbs: I have seen bang-able ladies of all races in cosplay. I’ve also borne witness to quite a number notties: white, Asian, blue, and purple.

sulci: Well I would like our readers to come to their own conclusion on this episode of Cosplay Idol. Exhibit 1: nipple girl here, Cammy from Street Fighter. All signs point to hot, however the status of her nipples is quite unknown. Are they falsies? continually hard? Is it part of her suit? Was she just chilly for the shot? Does it add to her hotness? Personally I have no idea, and am just very confused. You?

Britney Spears loli princess once more

Japanese artist and the genius behind Akihabara Majokko Princess, Takashi Murakami, has gotten Britney Spears onto the cover of British Pop Magazine (above).

What you see is no standard photo series, however. Murakami purposefully made the photos to resemble scenes taken from the manga My Wife Is A Grade Schooler. The manga was used as an example of sexualized young-looking characters back when Japan was looking at banning such depictions (although My Wife Is A Grade Schooler is gag manga and its material was intended to be social commentary).

Murakami’s photographic recreations with Britney Spears are intended to show such manga as art. Murakami says “I thought it should be immortalized as an artistic event to be marked in history. I am an artist. Because of this, I did what artists do.”

Pokémon’s Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny get redesign

Pokémon‘s sexy duo of Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny are getting a redesign in the upcoming anime series based on the new Black and White games. The next series is called Best Wishes.

Nurse Joy’s loopy hair has thankfully been retained, but her clothing is toned down from the I’ve-seen-this-in-porn outfit she had before. Officer Jenny, meanwhile, has been given the cropped Hermione look.

Brock could not immediately be reached for comment. I can only assume he is in a state of total shock.

I can’t have been the only one who spent a small part of his teenage years dwelling on the hotness of Pokémon‘s Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny. Then again, maybe I was.
