Zack Snyder directing Superman, Zod to feature as villain
It is now being reported that Zack Snyder, director of 300 and Watchmen, will also direct the next Superman movie. This will presumably be Snyder’s chance to take his slow-down/speed-up camera tricks to in-flight fighting.
Additionally, the Kryptonian Zod, who appeared in the 1978 and 1980 Superman films, and who Wikipedia calls “megalomaniacal,” is set to be the new movie’s villain. Nerds have been calling for a super-powered super-villain like Zod for some time, claiming Superman needs a more threatening enemy who can compete with the nigh-indestructible nature of Clark Kent’s alter-ego. In other words, Snyder has an enemy capable of kicking The Red Blue Blur down a well (black hole?) while screaming “KNEEL. BEFORE. ZOD.”
