Twilight ruins baby names for 2009
The United States Social Security Administration has released their annual list of the top baby names. For 2009, the most popular boy’s name was Jacob, and the most popular girl’s name was Isabella. That’s right, Jacob and Bella, two of the leading characters from Twilight.
Not content with shaming themselves for wasting their time and effort on the books and movies of the Twilight franchise, it would seem Americans have embraced shaming their children as well, and burdening their kids with names that now represent wooden acting and sexism.
As for team Edward, it seems he just doesn’t compare in the minds of Americans to the power of the lycan. Everybody’s favourite foot-faced sparkler only reached 137th for the year.
