Star Wars sitcom will have Seth Green’s help

Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich will have a hand in the development of a new animated Star Wars TV series that will explore the more mundane side of a galaxy far far away. The comic geniuses behind Admiral Ackbar Cereal have teamed up with LucasFilm Animation to create a currently nameless comedic series based on the wacky, but slightly less exciting, exploits of Star Wars characters.

Rather than copying the Robot Chicken sketch formula, the new show will focus on characters and narrative in the fashion of a sitcom.

Senreich explains “We’re going to pull back the curtain of some of those behind-the-scenes shenanigans.” And Green insists “Let us assure you this isn’t going to suck as much as you think it is… we’re not talking about Jar-Jar electrocuting his tongue.”

Could be awesome, could be a train wreck. Either way, I’m too amused to not watch.
