Star Trek is 44 years old today!
Forty-four years ago today, on September 8, 1966, Star Trek was premiered on NBC. The first episode shown was “The Man Trap” (technically the fifth episode of the series), which featured the unnamed “M-113 creature,” a monstrous-looking salt vampire. The episode was chosen to air first because it took place outside the Enterprise, had a “straightforward action plot,” and featured the aforementioned monster.
On this historic day, I would like everyone to join me in raising a glass of Romulan ale to The Original Series, everything that followed it, series creator Gene Roddenberry, and the mighty USS Enterprise.

There was a blonde in Star Trek??
