RUMOUR: EA to betray Wii, bring Dead Space Extraction to 360/PS3 at an offensively low price
Kotaku is reporting that surveys have surfaced suggesting that the on-rails Wii shooter Dead Space Extraction may be heading to the 360 and PS3 as a $15 downloadable. No word on how the game might play, whether it would be with traditional controllers or the systems’ upcoming motion sensing devices.
EA talked up the game when they were prepping it for Wii, insisting that, aside from the standard-def graphics, Dead Space Extraction would be top-notch, triple-A “mature” blockbuster. Now that the game has bombed on Wii, we see that EA considered the game as the equivalent of nothing more than a cheap downloadable snack for HD gamers.
Dead Space Extraction was yet another cheap and lazy attempt from a third party developer trying to cash in on the Wii’s install base. Instead of creating the deep kind of game that might have warranted a full price release on other systems, the Wii got the equivalent of a 1200-point XBLA game, no different than Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao.
