Mediocre Wii game gets sequel: The Conduit 2
The original Conduit made waves when it was released last July, in part because it was a 3rd party developed FPS for Wii with great customizable controls, but mostly because it was an okay game massively overhyped by Nintendo zealots who desperately wanted to pretend it was a Halo killer. Shufflingdead jumped aboard the hype train with, incredibly two reviews.
Well, the guys at High Voltage Software have decided to try again with The Conduit 2, and it sounds like they’ve taken into consideration the complaints, whines, and desires of players. HVS is promising a broader array of locations, enemy types, and guns, alongside refined enemy AI, more use of the game’s “ASE” item, customizable suits for your character, and 4-player local multiplayer. Conduit 2 is set for a Fall 2010 release.
My only major issue with the first game was that there simply wasn’t enough to do. The single player campaign was short, the achievements were dull and not worth collection, and the game lacked the sort of alternate modes, mini-games, and challenges available in something like Perfect Dark. Here’s hoping for more this time around.
