June NPD numbers anger up the blood

Last month, I predicted that June’s NPD numbers (US video game sales) would make me hate, and they have certainly succeeded in doing so.
On the console side, the 360 managed to surpass the PS3 and even narrowly sneak past the Wii to take first place with 451.7K units sold. That’s in comparison to 304.8K for the PS3 and 422.5K for the Wii. I guess there were just enough brainless bros inspired by the hyper-masculine Vader-box redesign to power past Microsoft’s competition.
The 360 was still no match for the DS, which conquered all with 510.7K sold. That’s compared to another pitiful showing by the PSP, which clocked in at 121.0K.
Software sales showed a pretty solid ravaging by Nintendo. Galaxy 2 took second place with 548.4K, proving that quality still means something to consumers. other Wii titles on the list included NSMB Wii, Wii Fit Plus, and Just Dance.
I hope to continue my now single-month streak of correct predictions with another easy one for July: surprise Pikmin 3 launch sweeps nation. Millions sold.
